
From June 22 to June 27, 2025, Alyssa attended the Juilliard School’s 13th Biennial Starling-DeLay Symposium on Violin Studies.
The week featured an inspiring series of masterclasses, recitals, lectures, and courses led by student artists, distinguished guest musicians, and Juilliard faculty and alumni.
Masterclasses were conducted by world-renowned violinists Areta Zhulla, Cornelia Heard, Donald Weilerstein, Joseph Lin, and Philip Setzer. Each session offered both the performing artists and the audience participants with afresh perceptions on repertoire interpretation and versatile practice techniques.
The symposium also presented two guest artist recitals, one by violinist Timothy Chooi and another by Jaime Laredo. Alyssa also participated in a Q&A session with Itzhak Perlman.
Lectures and courses complemented the masterclass format, covering topics such as:

The Starling-DeLay Symposium fostered a international exchange, bringing together musicians from all corners of the world and providging an invaluable opportunities for learning, collbaoration, and connection.
